New Year's Day

Hi-Ing Music Hall's hexagonal facade glows purple at dusk, with crowds gathering on the waterfront plaza.

The most important thing that will come out of Taiwan is my uncle and dad figuring out how to stabilize my grandparents. They have health issues and are becoming less independent. I feel somewhat relieved that my uncle has been coming up with plans because I thought I was the only person who was thinking about this. The main priorities are for my grandparents to see the doctor and eventually transition to getting some kind of care whether it is with caretakers or family. This still needs lots of action but I'm glad there is momentum.

My boyfriend's mom tasked me to buy good high-mountain tea from Taiwan and I've been treating it like a little mission. I've bought two 2kgs a few days ago and today my family ate lunch at a special tea restaurant. I don't know how to tell which tea is good and I tried to ask a bunch of questions. Luckily a relative recommended me a tea to buy that was reputable and was in the target price range. I took a picture of the tea and boyfriend's mom approved!

For dinner, we ate dinner with my mom's side of the family. My cousin has a baby and I taught her how to fist bump for the first time! She's a cute baby.

I am starting to feel more pressure to get money. I had to sell stocks yesterday because I don't have enough money for rent. And my runway is getting really low. I took inventory of the things I need to focus on in the spring semester: classes, homework, going to the gym, practicing mathacademy and blogging 30 min, making short term money, and applying to summer internships. For the short term, my plan is to do a little consulting business to make money. I wrote up a draft of things I could do a while ago but now I need to develop it and find clients. I'm hoping the excitingness of making the business will overcome the current anxiety.
